Need a relaxing break? Want to go hiking or cycling in some of the most beautiful scenery that England has to offer? With stunning panoramic views over Swaledale and very close to the village of Gunnerside, Strands View is a spacious eco-friendly converted stone barn sleeping up to six and has been renovated to a very high standard by two people who love the Yorkshire Dales.
The cottage
The building dates from 1792 and was a cow milking barn for Strands farm, before being converted into a residential property in 1983 and then extended in 2007. The original farmhouse (we believe the oldest house in Swaledale) is next door and is now attached to the further house built by the accountant of the local lead mine.
Strands View is eco-friendly. It has an air source heat pump powered by renewable electricity to provide heating throughout the property. There is also an electric car charger to reduce the carbon footprint of travelling to and around the Dales.
